Surprise!! The Wabanaki community welcomed three very special guests into our homeland this morning… Yo-Yo Ma, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, and as always, kisos (☀️)! These wonderful musicians gathered and sang the day into being. This morning’s gathering was the first of Yo-Yo Ma’s project to bring music to natural spaces across Turtle Island, serving as a platform for Indigenous Nations to lead us toward a racially and environmentally just future. It was an honor to be the first to send that collective prayer out for change, and to bring forward Yo-Yo’s vision of healing. Stay tuned for more coverage from Sunlight Media Collective.
